How To Get Cheap Debt Consolidation

Do An Internet Search for Cheap Debt Consolidation Companies

If you search the Internet for cheap debt consolidation, debt consolidation or consolidate debt, you’ll find an abundance of companies available to do cheap debt consolidation.  After doing your search on the Internet, select around 10 companies on which to do further research.  Make sure the companies you choose each have the Better Business Bureau (BBB) logo on their websites.  A BBB logo means that the company meets stringent BBB requirements prior to becoming approved.  Also, look for industry accreditations like the National Foundation for Credit Counseling.  This organization requires credit or debt counselors to complete specific training and meet stringent requirements.

Contact each of the cheap debt consolidation companies you selected and ask them for all their rates.  After they provide you quotes, ask them again if that is all their rates.  Request that they send their rates to you in writing.  If they send them through the USPS mail, it is typically more binding than through an e-mail.  After receiving every company’s rates, compare all of them against each other.  Select the company with the cheapest debt consolidation rates.

Check With Your Local Bank or Credit Union For Cheap Debt Consolidation

You may also obtain an unsecured debt through a local bank or credit union if you have good credit.  Cheap debt consolidation loans are hard to obtain if your credit rating is low.  It can’t hurt to try to obtain one of these as they typically offer relatively low interest rates.  You could significantly lower the interest rates you are currently paying on your existing unsecured debt.  If you are turned down, then you could apply for a second mortgage to consolidate your debt.  You also may be able to obtain a new mortgage that would consolidate your existing mortgage with your debt consolidation.  That would significantly lower your interest rate, pay off your current debt and probably improve your credit rating.
